Hi! My name is Naomi DeVries and I am currently in my graduate program for Library Science. I love working in libraries and the different types of jobs that you are able to do. I am able to be helpful and teach people how to use the computer or help them find information, which are things I love doing!
I have four dogs and enjoy watching them learn and develop their own personalities. Animals are a passion of mine and I believe they can bring so much positive into ones life. I believe animals are able to free people from stress when they are having a bad day. It is nice to be able to go home and have a dog that is excited to see you. Just that one thing makes you smile an forget the kind of day you have had! I have rescued five dogs and one cat so far and I plan to have many more!
In my current professional life I use social media a lot. We get a lot of emails on a daily basis. People need help finding certain books or journals on a specific topic and we are able to go step by step on how to best teach them how to get their information just through an email. There are also students who prefer calling us from home when they are needing help with something concerning their research and they get stuck. It is so much easier to get to the page that they are at and be able to maneuver them to where they should be. We also have a Facebook page that people are able to like and we also put information on it to get it out to the students. The Internet is such a huge part of life that I do not think many businesses would be able to cope with not having it. So much is done online now and we have put away the old way of doing things. We haven't gone to text messaging yet and I do not really see us doing that in the near future. I think we would have to get a lot bigger in order to have a service for it.
